A christian public speaker once said something that slapped me right in the face.
He said: “do you want to know what the dumbest sin there is?
Jealousy.
Want to know why?
Because it’s the only sin you don’t get any pleasure out of. You get nothing. Only envy and misery.”
Wow.
That hit me.
Because, friend! IT’S SO TRUE!!!!
Every.single.one.of.us. at one point or another has struggled with jealousy. Of something. Or someone. Or both.
But why?
I have always despised jealousy. It disgusts me. It’s what breaks up many friendships, relationships, families, opportunities, dreams, etc. It destroys so many things and does so much harm and absolutely zero good. Like that speaker said, it gives us no pleasure.
My friend, if we are always envious of others, looking at THEIR life, THEIR accomplishments, THEIR success, THEIR victories, THEIR beauty, THEIR lifestyles, then what is the point of even having our own dreams, ambitions, goals, and lives to live?
If we’re constantly envious of what others have, then we will never be happy or content with what we have.

I’m not saying it’s easy to do, but it is the only way we will truly be happy. The only way we will truly be happy, is being genuinely happy for others. And genuinely caring for others and their victories.
We all have our own victories, my friend.
And each and every one of our victories, triumphs, and success is going to look so different from everyone else’s.
Let’s put an end to jealousy – a mean, ugly feeling within us that does absolutely nothing but bring us down, and keep us even further away from doing what we love and accomplishing those dreams of ours.
There is SO MUCH in this world, my friend. And there is PLENTY of it to go around. So let’s share it with love, and genuinely live these beautiful lives of ours that we are called to live.
