All The Single Ladies: This One’s For YOU

What's On The Heart

Pssst, single ladies!

This one’s for you.

You don’t need a life partner to be amazing.

That might be a blunt statement, and/or might offend some, but it’s on my heart today and I truly feel called to share it.

I see so many amazing ladies out there. SO many. And I see them hurting. They’re hurting because they see all their friends in relationships, or they just got out of a relationship, or they’ve been hurt a few too many times, or they have never experienced that kind of love before.

Whatever the case may be, I’ve seen it.

And I see those beautiful, smart, and strong ladies questioning their worth. Asking every.single.day. if they’re enough. Wondering what their calling is, what their purpose is, and if they’ll ever find the love of their life.

Well my beautiful friend, I am here to tell you that you ARE enough, and you do not need someone holding your hand to tell you that.

You don’t need someone sending you good morning texts to do amazing things – to grow and live your life to the fullest.

LADIES! If we never find true happiness within ourselves and believe that we truly ARE amazing, and use those talents God gave us, then we will never be happy with a significant other.

I don’t know why, but for some reason we all have this idea in our heads that if we just started dating already, all of our problems would go away. That our significant other is going to somehow make them disappear.

My friend, I’m sorry if this is harsh, but I am here to tell you that a significant other is not going to solve your problems. If anything, they will ADD to your list of problems.

If we don’t truly love ourselves and everything that we are, and if we do not believe that we are talented, successful, smart, and amazing, then how are we supposed to ever believe that to be true about those we love? How are we supposed to build those we love up, if we’re constantly putting ourselves down?

I’m twenty-two years old and have never been married. That’s not to say that I don’t ever want to have a life partner, but I’m also not putting my worth into having a significant other. I’m not spending day and night longing for something my friends have that I may not have.

Because all of our lives are so different, we all will find that one person in different ways, and at different times in our lives.

So why waste away time by just longing for something that’s not meant to be at this point in our lives, when we have an entire LIFE to live?!

My friend, you are strong. You are amazing. You are successful. You are beautiful. All of your blemishes, rolls, bruises, scars, cellulite, dark circles, all of you. It’s beautiful.

And if you put your worth in God above and allow Him to lead this path that you’re meant to take on, then He is going to send that special someone into your life when you are TRULY ready.

Not when YOU think you’re ready just because you’re longing for affirmation.

He is going to send that someone when you have truly grown in your relationship with God, learned to love all of you, and grown in who you are, rather than in who someone wants you to be.

You be YOU, girlfriend. There’s only one you, and many of us are only single for so long.

So let’s LIVE this life! Let’s eat Ben n’ Jerry’s just cause we can. Let’s go KILL it at our jobs because we are successful and SO capable. Let’s invest in friendships. Let’s travel the entire world. And let’s look in the mirror every day and love every part of us, because that’s who God created YOU to be.

Don’t let anyone EVER tell you you’re not worthy or amazing or beautiful. Being single is not a label. It’s an opportunity. An opportunity to grow, flourish, and be the amazing lady you were meant to be!

And in the process let’s cheer those married bffs of ours on, because yay! It was their time and they found that life partner of theirs to cheer them on. Let’s also be their cheerleaders, and when it’s our time, they’ll be ours.

We’ve got this, girlies! Now go be the amazing babe you were meant to be.

xoxo
